In November 2000, Charles led a team of 4 players for the North American Teams Open Championships which is a heavy three day tournament. One player's parents decided to leave one day early leaving the team short handed. Another player gave up on the last day because he could not take the pressure. Charles encouraged him to stay. Charles and the other player did not give up and played against other teams despite their disadvantage. I was touched by his courage and insistence to fight to the last. Finally they got 2^nd place, each team member having received a trophy.

 

Charles appears to be not aggressive from his humble and warm personality and sense of humor, however, I was surprised by his great courage and how he could fight to the last although the situation definitely did not favor him.
